You know you've done a good deed when you sit outside a neighbors house for 20 minutes knocking on the front door trying to wake someone up so that their dog that you've just found outside, can be taken in. And this was after a long night of semi-drinking and reminiscing with friends.

ALMS
This is what I've been doing all weekend. And gotdamned does it fucking own. I mean where else can you go watch cars race around a track at high-speed and then make passes while going from 90 to about 10 mph. Yeepa. Plus you get to see pretty cars like this, and about 20 seconds after I snapped that picture the car fired up and went off to practice. Lordy was it a beautiful sound.
And it's only been 2 days of racing, and yet I've managed to take 6 rolls of film, the link up there is only of the first day's pictures, so just imagine how many I'm going to have when it's all said and done.

Why mac's really aren't better then PC's.
Not much to say today cept I went to visit my friend in the hospital and he looks pretty damned good and they're hopeful he can come home in a few days, which is awesome. Oh yea, damn there are some fine ass women in DC, not like in Baltimore where if you saw a good lookin girl you had to wonder what corner she was headed to, or where the pimp was. And if that wasn't the case, she probably had some VD and you wouldn't want to go near her anyways.
But the next link is for Tangent because of her "Mac users are smarter then PC users", so if you have a decent connection, and/or just feel like watching two amusing movies, watch this and this now the second link has some profanity but well if you get offended by that kinda stuff. What in the hell are you doing here? Seriously though the 2nd one is only in .wmv format [so that means you Tangent have to watch it at home, and not at work (sorry)] So go ahead watch, laugh like me, and uh..I dunno. Ok I was going to paste up one link for a Strong-Bad email flash movie, but then I watched another, and now my stomach hurts way too bad. Good news that my friend is now out of ICU as of this morning so hopefully I can visit him sometime during the week. Only shitty thing is that my schedule for the rest of the week is 4-11pm from now till well..this weekend. And then this weekend I have the ALMS race in DC to attend to, so I'm missing training from work to attend it. So maybe if he's still in the horsepistol then I will go see him instead of seeing some of the cars race.
But this has made me laugh so hard it's not even funny. Someone told me it was 'old' already [meaning it's been around the internet for about 2 days and has already been seen to death] but I haven't seen it until just now, and it's goddamned fucking funny. It might take a bit to load for you modem people, but trust me, it's worth it.

Stop and think
So yea yet another 'major' thing happened today. My best friend went in for surgery to remove some more lumps that the doctors had been watching that were slowly getting larger and larger. I finally managed to get ahold of his mom tonight after trying repeatedly to see what was going on. Turns out he was in surgery for 8 1/2 hours [I can only imagine what the doctors must've felt like after 8 1/2 hours doing the surgery] and had some minor complications arise during it [but they weren't major and all were taken care of smoothly].
So now he's in the ICU resting and hopefully he gets moved out of there pretty quickly so I can head on up and visit him since I believe I've seen him in the hospital everytime he's gone in for surgery, so either way I'll see him.
It's sort scary when your best friend's already gone in for major cancer surgery 3 times, and he's only 21. Makes you stop and think, ya know?

It's interesting how just driving, without thinking about a damned thing, can be so calming. I mean after a day of wanting to shoot someone for just being a stupid fucking bitch, and my best friend going in for major cancer surgery, I can go out pick any road and start driving and somehow forget about everything and anything. All I focus on is the dotted lines ahead of me and making sure I keep my car between the ditches.
As each line blurs by you can almost feel the bad things of the day sliding away from you and being left back there on the pavement.
Of course there's the other day to forget about the outside world, push the car to it's utter-most limits so that it demands your entire senses. Then you have no choice but to forget about whatever was going on in your head and focus solely on making sure your braking is coming at the apex and you're not getting on the throttle too much. Or try to make sure you're feathering the throttle just enough so that the tail end continues it's outward slide without either stopping, or going too fast you can't control it as you slide sideways almost, around a corner.
Which is why whenever there's things pissing me off, more then likely I'm out driving somewhere. Where that is, I have no idea since I don't decide until I'm on the road.

Boom.
So sort of like I had feared my plans for the 4th fell through when almost no one showed up [save Mary and her friend (which was cool because they're cool people. But jebus did I feel like a fucktard for havin 'em drive all the way out here with no one even here)]. So that kind of ruined the evening for a bit, but I mean I still had a bunch of beer and a lotta fireworks, so it wasn't too bad. And man the fireworks I did get were pretty damned cool. Next year though we're gonna spend at least 300 and get a ton of stuff so we can really put on a show.
