Today sucks.

Some days I really just want to crawl back in bed, find a remote and rewind the day back to the beginning so I can redo the day. Man to be Bill Murry in Groundhog day, I'd seriously pee my pants with joy if I could redo today.

Why? Because I got into a major accident while scoping out Regan airport for Sara's flight in tomorrow. Needless to say Sara is now not flying in tomorrow, and we're sure as shit not driving cross-country on Tuesday.

Today sucks.

An appropriate good-bye?

I leave in an hour to mail off my clothes, yea you read that right. I’m mailing my clothes to Sara’s house because while I don't have a lot, just sending those off free's my car with a ton of space.

Of course the box is too heavy for me to lift myself so I’m enlisting Ian to help me. I just hope Sara’s sister can move it under an awning, or get tonio's help moving it.

So yea, time's gettin close, less than 3 days now. I’m super excited but also super-nervous, because at this point I would rather it be next Tuesday already and us on our way because then I wouldn't have to wait. Incase people haven't noticed, I have zero patience, especially waiting for things that are important to me. I want them to happen now, so I can stop waiting, and making myself nervous to the point of sick.

Though I think finally I’m getting over the cold that was kicking my ass for most of the weekend while I was up at grandma's. Lemme tell you it's not fun being sick and having to drive, but I’d rather be sick now, than sick next week when we're driving. Cause a 5 hour drive to grandma's isn't anything opposed to a week's worth of traveling. Even though Grandma's didn't have working pipes [so no water or toilets] for most of the weekend, I still got to sit around and at least get better.

It was weird when I said 'bye' to my uncle and some others, because I knew I wouldn't see them when we stopped back into town next week, but I kept thinking in my head that I’d see them soon. At most a month or two, thanksgiving for sure. then I would remember "hey dummy you're going to be in co. then, you won't see 'em for at least 4 months, maybe longer" and then I’d feel bad because I didn't give them I dunno, an appropriate good-bye.

Gettin ready to move

So I have a little more than 10 days left until Sara gets here. Needless to say I'm getting more excited, also because of the fact we're now staying in Columbus which gives me a chance to eat from the Cooker again, which literally, is making my mouth water. I'm honestly happier than a pig in shit that there's a Cooker literally down the street from where we're staying. All I pray is that they have prime-rib all the time instead of only during the weekends, because then I could literally die a happy man.

Other than that I think I need to start packing up my clothes since well, I'd like to take more than just two pairs of pants or something and my jersey's. And I think if I fill the steamer trunk up with clothes and other shit, then mail it off, I might have enough room to take one [or both] of my guitars.

Fuck, I also have to get all my damned cd's put into binders so I can take them along. Guess it's a good thing I have multiple days off work this week thanks to my finagling so I get off tomorrow night so I can go see the last Craig show.

Honeycutt

Ok weird, this morning I only saw old entries here, looks like the server is being fucking retarded again. Joy.

Either way last night was highly enjoyable. I traveled down to Arlington and went to see Craig Honeycutt at some bar and it was just awesome. I got there probably at 8:45 or so, sat at the bar and was having a beer when Craig ended up next to me asking the bartender for a water and Red-Bull. I think, or well hope, he recogonized me and asked what I had been up to and we proceeded to shoot the shit for a few minutes. Came to find out that he too, like myself, is moving away from Virginia come September. Only he's not going to Denver, instead he's headed to NYC to keep up with the music.

A few minutes later he was playing, easily to a pretty subdued crowd, but that doesn't bother me. I kind of like it when it's like that because then you don't have to deal with a lot of assholes shouting out "Gimme music!" or such nonsense. What was amusing though is halfway through his set I went over to two ladies, one of whom looked familar and yea turns out I did know them. I had talked to one girl at NYE and had also gone to see e: play to probably 5 people at a TV studio in Vienna, so it was definetly amusing to see her there.

But his set was awesome, I think he probably played for almost 3 hours and some change. He started at 9 and didn't really finish until 12:20 or so. Whiich was totally awesome in my book because he did a bunch of covers [Dylan, U2, Springsteen], some everything songs, and a few of his new ones.

And his new album? Awesome, he had said in talking to him that it was a lot more singer-songwriter oriented because that's who he is and he made the album because he wanted to go off in that direction. I would've been happy if it was just him on acoustic guitar, but he and Steve [of everything also] put some backing instruments on it also, and it sounds really good.

Anyway I took some pictures for once, since I've only been going to everything shows for maybe 7 years and never taken any sort of picture, so here they are. They all open up to larger versions.

And after I got the last picture he ended up signing my new CD. Now I just have to remember to get off work in two weeks so I can see his last show before we both move.

Oh uggh

Oh man I'm so hurting after last night. My goal before we went out was to get so drunk I forgot who I was because of how shitty the weekend has been at work, and honestly I'm not sure it happened. What did happen though was that I drank entirely too much alochol and was definetly drunk. And now I get to go to work, again. I swear, someone jab me in the eye with a spork so I have a valid reason for not working.
